How it works

A structured website process that keeps the risk visible.

The project moves through five clear steps, with scope, price, revisions, timing and payment decisions written down before they become a surprise.

Five simple steps

From first message to launch.

The exact timing changes with the project. The order stays simple.

  1. 01

    Tell us about your business

Start with the business, audience and job the website needs to do. A rough description, current website or a few useful notes are enough.

    Outcome: useful starting brief
  2. 02

    Plan your website

The page structure, main message, enquiry route and practical scope are agreed. The quote records price, revisions, timing and relevant external costs.

    Outcome: written scope and direction
  3. 03

    Design and build

Dovy creates the visual system and develops responsive pages, navigation, forms and agreed interactions around the approved direction.

    Outcome: working responsive website
  4. 04

    Review and refine

You review the website and send grouped feedback. Changes within the revision allowance are refined before final approval.

    Outcome: approved website
  5. 05

    Launch

Links, forms, responsive layouts and metadata are checked. The website launches after approval and the agreed handover takes place.

Outcome: live website and agreed access

Ownership and transparency

The practical details are not left until the end.

Dovy Studio uses the written quote and project terms to make the commercial decisions visible before work starts.

Read the project terms

02

Domain and provider accounts

The quote records who owns and manages the domain, hosting and other third party accounts.

03

Relevant access

Account access, training and handover items are listed for the specific project rather than assumed.

04

Changes

Anything outside the agreed scope is explained and priced before chargeable extra work is added.

Standard payment schedule

50% to start. 50% after approval.

Unless your written quote says otherwise, the standard schedule is a 50% deposit after accepting the quote, then the remaining 50% after final approval and before launch or handover.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you commit.

If something important is not covered here, ask it directly. You do not need to turn a question into a formal sales call.

Ask Dovy
How long does a website take?

Timing depends on the number of pages, how much content is ready, feedback speed and current availability. Your written quote includes a realistic target before work begins.

How much does a website cost?

Current starting prices are £199 for Starter, £399 for Business and £699 for Premium. The final price depends on the agreed scope and is confirmed in writing before work starts.

Do I need to provide the content?

You can start with rough notes and accurate business information. Dovy Studio can organise supplied information into the website structure. Wider copywriting or research is agreed separately if the project needs it.

Do you provide hosting?

Hosting is not automatically included in the starting package price. The quote confirms the recommended setup, who manages the account and any provider charges or renewals.

Can you register my domain?

Domain setup can be discussed as part of the project. The written quote should state who owns and manages the domain account and any separate provider cost.

Who owns the website?

The quote states the ownership transfer or licence that applies to the final website and when it takes effect. You keep ownership of material you supply, while third party assets remain subject to their own licence terms.

How many revisions do I get?

The included revision allowance is written into your quote before work starts. Extra pages, new functionality or a major change of direction are priced before additional work is added.

Can I update my website myself?

That depends on how the website is built. If self editing is important, say so before the quote so the right setup and handover requirements can be scoped.

Do you provide ongoing support?

Ongoing care, content updates and further improvements can be arranged separately when needed. The quote or care agreement states what support is included.

What happens after the website launches?

You receive the handover items agreed in the quote. Any ongoing maintenance, hosting administration, updates or support continue only where they have been separately agreed.

What happens if I change my mind?

Cancellation should be given in writing. Properly completed work and committed external costs are deducted from payments received, with any unused amount handled according to the accepted quote, customer status and applicable law.
